Howard Middleton

Bake Off legend Howard Middleton will be on the chef demo stage.

Bake Off star Howard Middleton will lift the lid on the show’s secrets when he takes part in the first Northampton Winter Food Festival.

Howard hit the headlines during the fourth series of The Great British Bake Off when he became of the victim of what the national media dubbed ‘Custardgate’.

He put a bowl of custard in the fridge but when he returned, it had vanished. It transpired another contestant had taken and used it.

Howard will be performing on the chef demonstration stage on both days of the festival and providing his behind-the-scenes insights.

He said: “I’ll be chatting away as I cook and I’m also happy to take questions from the audience. It’s a great way of passing time while I’m whisking!”

Howard, who learnt to bake as a boy with his mother, will make his crunchy nut carrot cakes and one of his festive recipes, sticky figgy pudding, at the festival.

He will be demonstrating on both days, at noon and 3pm.
